Hi! I'm Zoë. I was raised in the tiny town of Hudson, Massachusetts, in between the apple orchards, the old town center, and the Assabet River. My love for food came from being mom's sous chef for family dinners and running around the restaurant dad managed in Newton Center.
In the spring of 2019, I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. I left with an AS in Baking and Pastry Arts, an AS in Culinary Arts, and was in the first graduating class of the revamped Culinary Arts Bachelor’s program, rooted in kitchen management, menu design, and leadership.
I moved to Minnesota after graduation and have been lucky enough to call this home since then! (Doesn’t hurt that I met a cute Minnesotan guy two weeks after moving here that sweetened the deal…) I’ve loved exploring the midwest and all of it’s amazing food and farming culture.
When I'm not in the kitchen, you'll find me wrangling my daughter, shopping at the local farmer's market, cooking for my friends and family, attempting an overly ambitious home DIY project, learning embroidery, playing with my dog (Sage) and two pet bunnies (Roux & Truffle), walking around my neighborhood, attempting to keep my house plants alive, drinking local beer, and checking out the local eateries in the Twin Cities.
I’ve been lucky enough to learn from, intern with, and stage with some truly incredible chefs, and expand my knowledge in a wide range of ways. I have experience in everything from Michelin starred fine dining, to CPG research & development, to barista training, to vegan baking, to whole animal butchery. I’m the kind of person who isn’t satisfied until I know everything there is to know - I like to call myself insatiably curious.
Right now, you can find me at France 44, as the head of the catering department. We produce drop off catering as well as in house catering for our event space, specializing in cheese boards that highlight all of the specialty cheeses and meats that we sell in the store.
As of right now, I have been to 13 countries: Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria, England, Germany, Israel, Costa Rica, India, France, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, and Czech Republic. Each of my trips have influenced who I am both as a person and a chef. The world is too big of a place to not go exploring.
